Our Approach for Marriage Counseling

We utilize attachment-based couples therapy, where couples explore their attachment styles and how they impact their interactions with each other. Through dialogue and exercises, couples gain insight into their own attachment styles and learn to recognize and validate each other’s emotional needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Many couples say they leave feeling more understood, more emotionally aware, and more connected to what’s actually happening beneath the conflict. Clients often report feeling supported, validated, and deeply understood. I also work to remain a steady, unbiased attachment figure for both partners, holding the best interest of the relationship at the center of the work. Clients have described me as insightful, empathetic, funny, and gentle.
My approach is primarily Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an attachment-based model that helps couples understand and shift the emotional cycles that drive disconnection. I also integrate elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Absolutely. Infidelity and betrayal can deeply impact trust, emotional safety, and connection. Marriage counseling can help couples process the pain, improve communication, rebuild trust, and understand underlying relationship dynamics.
Yes. I work with couples at all stages, including those on the brink of separation. The focus is on emotional stability and understanding whether repair is possible.
I work with communication challenges, conflict patterns, emotional disconnection, attachment injuries, betrayal trauma, infidelity, sexual concerns, parenting stress, and life transitions.
Sex therapy addresses emotional, psychological, relational, and physiological factors affecting sexual connection including desire differences, anxiety, and intimacy issues.
Weekly therapy is ongoing and gradual, while intensives are longer sessions in a short period for faster progress and deeper work.
Therapy may bring strong emotions as patterns surface. It can feel intense before things improve, but it supports lasting change.
If you face communication issues, trust problems, emotional distance, or conflict, therapy can help rebuild connection.
You can start alone. Often one partner beginning therapy creates positive change in the relationship.
We don’t bill insurance directly, but superbills are provided for reimbursement. Mentaya can also help with claims.
Yes, everything is confidential except legal safety exceptions like harm risk. These are clearly explained in therapy.
